Vesuvius is a global leader in metal flow engineering, providing a full range of engineering services and solutions to its customers worldwide, principally serving the steel and foundry industries. The Vesuvius Flow Control focuses on developing leading-edge core engineering technologies to be used in the continuous casting process.

To support our ongoing growth, we are regularly seeking Mechanical Engineers to join our technical teams and support innovative projects.

Requirements

Your main responsibilities as Mechanical Engineer:

  • Technical Service Requests:
  • You handle the design (mechanical/hydraulic/media) requests when it comes to new demands for technical jobs to support our Sales, Customers, and product continuous improvement.
  • You build the technical specification for the design job to be realized by our team in China. You supervise the job, make sure it is realized in due time and within the Vesuvius standards.
  • You report progress proactively to the job requestors and administrate the work in the TSR system database.
  • Provide technical assistance to Vesuvius colleagues:
  • Being a Systems product specialist, you answer various technical questions from Sales and Project Managers on a time-to-time basis.
  • You coordinate and support Operations and Suppliers during the manufacturing process.
  • Continuous improvement of Systems products and standardization:
  • You take lead of new products developed by the R&D department, define the new standards, manage the revision of drawings and documentation when a relevant improvement is identified, and finally communicate it with other Systems Engineering sites in the USA and China.
  • You set up and maintain Design Rules to share best practices across the group.

What you will bring:

  • Your first experience in mechanical design (conception, calculation, material selection, detail engineering design, manufacturing methods). A certain degree of creativity is expected.
  • Able to work in a team with good leadership skills.
  • Autonomous, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proactive and organized.
  • Practical approach and hands-on capability with interest for heavy industry application.

  • PTC Windchill (PLM)
  • MS Office
