The European Policy Centre publishes various reports, policy briefs, and articles on these subjects, and it regularly collaborates with other think tanks, academic institutions, and governmental organizations.
About the roleCommunications Officer is responsible for developing, managing, and executing internal and external communication strategies to enhance an organization's image, reputation, and outreach efforts. This role is often a mix of creativity, strategic planning, and hands-on execution, requiring individuals to be adaptable and proactive in their approach to both traditional and digital communication methods.
Responsibilities- Plan and implement comprehensive communication strategies to promote the organization's mission, services, and values.
- Develop messaging that resonates with target audiences, including stakeholders, media, and the general public.
- Write, edit, and produce various forms of content such as press releases, blog posts, newsletters, speeches, and social media posts.
- Maintain a consistent voice and tone across all communication platforms.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create content for campaigns.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and influencers.
- Handle media inquiries, prepare media kits, and organize press conferences or media events.
- Oversee the organization's social media channels, ensuring consistent branding and engagement.
- Develop and execute social media campaigns to increase visibility and engagement.
- Manage internal communication channels, including newsletters, emails, and intranet platforms.
- Ensure staff are informed about organizational updates, policies, and achievements.
- Organize and promote events such as conferences, webinars, and product launches.
- Coordinate logistics, manage event promotion, and engage with media.
- Act as a point of contact during a crisis or sensitive situation.
- Draft statements and manage communication to mitigate reputational risk.
- Track the performance of communication efforts using analytics tools.
- Report on media coverage, social media engagement, and campaign success.
- Undergraduate Degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism, in a related field.
- Proven experience in a communications role, ideally within a similar industry.
- Excellent writing and editing skills are crucial for producing clear, engaging, and error-free content.
- Strong verbal communication skills for interviews, meetings, and events.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Commitment to EPC Values and contributing to the well-being of the organization.
