Referment is working with a pan-European trading venue serving retail brokers and institutional market participants with execution and market-data solutions. It is appointing a senior commercial lead to become the main point of contact for clients in France and deepen the firm’s position in the French market.Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you will combine strategic market leadership with hands‑on account management. The immediate emphasis is on strengthening existing relationships, improving client engagement and retention, and finding well‑founded opportunities to expand activity. You will also connect French clients with product, operations, regulatory and technology colleagues working across several European locations.
The Role
- Lead commercial and client-relationship activity in France, acting as the principal contact for local clients and partners.
- Manage and deepen relationships with brokers, banks, liquidity providers and other financial institutions.
- Help clients navigate French equities, ETFs, retail execution and the surrounding market‑structure and regulatory landscape.
- Identify opportunities to increase client activity and develop existing partnerships while maintaining a high standard of service.
- Coordinate internal Product, Operations, Regulatory and Technology teams to respond to client needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Provide business leaders with useful feedback on client priorities, competitor activity and regulatory developments.
- Represent the business at client meetings, conferences and other relevant industry events.
What We’re Looking For
- At least eight years of relevant experience in client relationship management, account management or execution within an exchange, brokerage or trading‑technology environment.
- Deep knowledge of French equities and ETF market structure, including the retail execution landscape.
- An established network across French brokers, banks, liquidity providers and other financial institutions.
- Evidence of retaining and growing senior client relationships, supported by strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills.
- A master’s degree in business, finance or a related subject from a top‑tier institution.
- Native‑level French and fluent English.
- The independence and organisation to operate effectively across remote, office and client settings.
- Willingness to travel frequently for meetings and events, primarily around Paris, and to collaborate with colleagues in other European offices.
