Role : AI Product & Engineering Lead – Fortino Capital Location : Hybrid working from Amsterdam, Antwerp or Munich Still building AI demos instead of real products? Here's the mission: help a growing PE portfolio win with AI and build a real value creation engine. Build. Ship. Scale. Repeat. Most AI roles talk about "exploration." This one is about making it real. You'll help run a high-impact AI Studio that delivers rapid AI MVPs, operational automation, and product enhancements across our portfolio — turning ideas into working products in weeks, not quarters. You'll work directly with founders, CTOs, product leaders, and external AI partners, shaping what gets built and how it scales. And you'll learn alongside a powerhouse team of operating advisors and entrepreneurs who've built, scaled, and exited real businesses. This is hands-on leadership. You start building from day one. No endless pilots. No slide-only strategies. Just AI MVPs that ship and create real value. What you'll love about this role End-to-end ownership : from opportunity → MVP → production → adoption Hands-on building : stay close to the code while shaping direction Compounding impact : what works gets reused across multiple companies Move fast with trust : autonomy, clarity, and a PE-style focus on outcomes Rare exposure : multiple industries, strong partners, and room to help shape a broader AI platform over time What you'll do Identify high-value AI opportunities with founders, CTOs, and product leaders Ship MVPs in 2–6 week cycles Lead end-to-end delivery with external AI studios/partners Move fluidly between product + engineering: prompts, agent workflows, requirements, evaluation, integration Get solutions live inside real product stacks and operating workflows Track adoption and ROI. Double down on what works, kill what doesn't Where you're technically strong You're hands-on with modern AI in production and care about outcomes. LLMs & ecosystems : OpenAI / Anthropic / Mistral + open source (e.g. Hugging Face) RAG & evaluation — retrieval design, tuning, and measurement (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Ragas, Langfuse) Agents & workflows — multi-step, tool-using systems that work in practice Production mindset — reliability, observability, cost, deployment (cloud and/or on-prem) Data + integration — Python/SQL, modern data platforms, APIs and workflow plumbing Nice to have: post-training or adapting open-weight models Sound like you?
