The Role
To support our growing data-driven initiatives, we are seeking a Linux System Engineer to join our Data Center Operations team. You will play a critical role in designing, configuring, and maintaining state-of-the-art IT infrastructure tailored to the needs of life sciences research.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, upgrade and optimise the infrastructure that supports data-intensive research activities.
- Maintain and support our High-Performance Compute infrastructure.
- Extend our hybrid cloud storage offerings and data delivery.
- Ensure the security, compliance, and scalability of the IT infrastructure.
- Design custom infrastructure solutions for our scientists.
- Automate common tasks with Ansible and Bash, Python, PowerShell scripting.
- Identify trends and problems and plan changes to improve stability and optimize performance.
- Create and maintain documentation, knowledge articles and processes.

Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Linux-based server or storage platforms.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- A critical analytical mindset and problem-solving attitude.
- A proactive and collaborative way of working, with excellent communication skills.
