What is the purpose of the role?

As a Technical Sales Engineer, you are responsible for analysing customer requests, preparing technical and commercial quotations and following up on projects through to their final conclusion.

Thanks to your technical knowledge in fire protection and your commercial mindset, you propose solutions tailored to our customers' needs. You act as the link between customers, technical teams, suppliers and various internal stakeholders to ensure that our quotations are high-quality, competitive and technically compliant.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Respond to customer requests and prepare accurate and competitive quotations within the required deadlines.
  • Carry out customer and site visits to analyse needs, assess technical constraints and propose the most appropriate solutions.
  • Analyse incoming enquiries and project files and ensure their commercial and technical follow-up.
  • Carry out the necessary technical studies and cost calculations to prepare quotations.
  • Consult suppliers and subcontractors in order to obtain the best technical and financial solutions.
  • Review, complete and update pricing schedules and price databases.
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of quotation submissions.
  • Actively participate in commercial department coordination meetings.
  • Follow up quotations through to their final outcome, whether this results in an order, cancellation or loss of the project.
  • Participate in the organisation and facilitation of kick-off meetings for new projects.
  • Analyse completed projects in order to identify areas for improvement and optimisation opportunities.
  • Actively contribute to improving and updating databases and cost calculation tools.
  • Participate in the research and evaluation of new fire suppression technologies and processes.
  • Monitor technical developments, standards and new market solutions.
  • Represent the company at trade fairs and specialised events in Belgium and across Europe.

What do we expect from you?

  • You have a solid technical education and relevant experience in fire protection or a similar technical environment.
  • You have a good knowledge of EN 12845, NFPA and FM standards relating to automatic sprinkler systems.
  • You are familiar with technologies related to hybrid systems, low- and high-pressure water mist and Vortex-type solutions.
  • You have experience in the design, costing and follow-up of technical projects.
  • You are customer-oriented, communicative and commercially minded.
  • You are able to analyse technical files and propose appropriate and competitive solutions.
  • You work in a rigorous, structured and autonomous manner and are able to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • You have a strong team spirit and communicate in a clear, constructive and transparent way.
  • You hold at least a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or have equivalent experience of at least 5 years in the field.
  • You have good knowledge of IT tools and cost calculation software.
  • You have a good command of the following languages:
  • French: excellent proficiency
  • Dutch: good professional proficiency
  • English: good professional proficiency
