Doctoral Scholarship in Biomedical Sciences – Cell Plasticity in Glioblastoma
Research Area: Biomedical Sciences, specifically Cell Plasticity in Glioblastoma
Location: Campus Drie Eiken, University of Antwerp
Eligibility/Qualification: Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in (Bio-)medical Sciences, Biochemistry, (Bio-)Physics, Bioscience Engineering, Veterinary Sciences, Medicine, or equivalent , or be on track to obtain the degree at the time of employment. Exceptional academic results, teaching competences aligned with the University’s vision, and research qualities in accordance with the faculty and university policies are essential. Experience in cell culture, genome engineering, fluorescence microscopy, and bioinformatics is recommended.
Job Description: The successful candidate will actively contribute to the preparation of a PhD thesis on cell plasticity in glioblastoma. Duties include molecular dissection of patient-derived glioblastoma cells, studying infiltrative capacity in cerebral organoids, publishing scientific articles related to the research project, and undertaking a limited number of teaching and research support tasks for the Laboratory of Cell Biology and Histology.
