Solution Architect - Functional / Business Wonka AI Brussels, Brussels Region, Belgium Candidate must have Native level in Dutch and have Active knowledge of English and French, and must be able to work two days per week onsite in Brussels. Role Description As a Solution Architect , you provide strategic guidance on the functional and technical architecture within a defined business domain. You translate complex needs into coherent, future-proof architectures that align processes, information flows and technology. You collaborate closely with business stakeholders and architects to define the domain’s key services, information structures and end-to-end processes. By applying recognised frameworks such as ArchiMate and BPMN, you establish a common architectural language and ensure consistency across teams. You contribute to the organisation’s transformation roadmap by shaping high-level solution designs, defining functional scope for initiatives, and supporting delivery teams. You also play an active role in the architecture community by sharing best practices and coaching other architects. Key Responsibilities Architecture and Domain Leadership Define the domain’s functional and technical architecture. Deliver architectural views of services, processes and information. Ensure coherence between business needs and solution design. Process and Service Modelling Map “as-is” and “to-be” processes using ArchiMate/BPMN. Translate complex subject matter into clear conceptual models. Collaboration and Gouvernance Work with application architects to translate business architecture into solutions. Embed architecture in tactical governance and support strategic changes. Project and Product Support Scope functional work packages for delivery teams. Communicate architectural decisions effectively and keep focus on essentials. Community and Coaching Participate in the architecture community. Coach architects on ArchiMate, best practices and stakeholder communication. Qualifications Required Experience in large organisations (+2000 employees). Experience in complex or public-sector environments. Strong skills in ArchiMate and BPMN (or equivalent). Ability to structure complexity and distinguish priorities. Experience coaching other architects. Understanding of project scope, budget and time. Nice-to-Have Knowledge of architecture frameworks and tools (e.g., Sparx EA). Experience in change support or process guidance. Ability to coordinate or mentor analysts/architects.
