JobDescription:
- TheTechnical Support Data Engineer is responsible for the technical quality,architectural alignment, and enforcement of standards within a Data Engineeringteam. This role acts as the primary technical reference and serves as the maininterface between the Data Engineers and the Data Platform Architects.
- Theselected candidate must bring a level of expertise allowing direct interventionon critical components of the Azure Data ecosystem. In addition, this personwill also get tasks to implement new pipelines and maintain existing ones.
- Serveas the technical authority for Data Engineers within a data team.
- Conductpulls request validations, peer reviews, and ensure full compliance with dataengineering standards.
- Providecoaching and guidance to junior Data Engineers.
- Contributeto the continuous improvement and maturity of data engineering practices withinthe organisation.
- Actas the single point of contact between Data Platform Architects and engineeringteams.
- Translatearchitectural guidelines into actionable technical instructions for engineeringteams.
- Recommendalternative technical solutions depending on the targeted DWH layer (ingestion,transformation, consumption…).
- Participatein the definition, evolution, and continuous improvement of the data platformand the data engineering standards.
- Providestructured feedback from field experience to refine practices and tooling.
- Contributeto performance optimization, data quality, and operational reliability.
- Language:English fluent + French fluent (Dutch is a bonus)
- Minimum5 years’ experience
- Naturalleadership and ability to guide multiple teams.
- Strongcommunication skills, both written and verbal, adapted to technical andnon-technical audiences.
- Analyticalmindset, structured approach, and high attention to detail.
- Pedagogicalattitude with the ability to support learning and development.
- Highlevel of autonomy.
- Design,develop, and optimize data pipelines within the Azure ecosystem.
- Demonstrateexpert proficiency in:
- MappingData Flow (MDF)
- Abilityto support the Data Modeler to ensure robust, scalable, and well-modelled datastructures, with strong expertise in dimensional modelling (star schema, DWHconcepts).
