🔹 Senior Linux Red Hat System Engineer 📍 EU Institution – Brussels 🏢 On-site: 3 days per week We are currently looking for a Senior Linux Red Hat System Engineer to join the engineering and operations team responsible for the compute (server) infrastructure of a major EU Institution. This role combines hands-on Linux operations with engineering, automation, and DevOps responsibilities in a large-scale enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities Operate and engineer Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments (physical & virtual) Manage and automate systems using Ansible Handle patching and package distribution via Red Hat Satellite Perform system hardening, vulnerability management, and troubleshooting Contribute to automation, containers, and DevOps initiatives Work closely with developers, security, network, and architecture teams Participate in continuous improvement of infrastructure and open-source solutions ✅ Required Skills & Experience Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (6.x, 7.x, 8.x) or CentOS Minimum 3 years of professional Linux system engineering experience Ansible and automation Scripting skills ( Shell, Ansible Playbooks, Python ) System hardening and security patching Experience in VMware virtualized environments ⭐ Nice to Have Experience in large enterprise or institutional environments SAN technologies, ESX / vCenter Hyperconverged platforms (e.g. Nutanix ) Containers and orchestration ( Docker, Kubernetes ) Infrastructure as Code, Cloud / Hybrid Cloud ( AWS, Azure ) Knowledge of ITIL best practices Experience with SLA-based operations and service delivery 🏛 Why Join?
