Position SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Mechanical Construction Project Manager with a strong background in industrial boiler projects, primarily within waste-to-energy environments. Reporting to the Section Manager, this role is central to the planning, coordination, and communication of projects from early bid phase through final delivery, ensuring alignment and satisfaction across all involved parties.The position is initially offered through an engineering agency, with the intention of transitioning to a permanent role within the organization after approximately 12 months.Key ResponsibilitiesA] Tendering & Pre-Project PhaseContribute to business development activities and project preparation by defining technically and commercially sound solutions:Prepare and compile qualification and tender documentationDevelop and execute bid strategies that clearly demonstrate value to the clientEstablish preliminary project baselines based on feasible technical solutions aligned with business objectivesDefine execution sequencing and high-level project planningDevelop procurement and subcontracting strategiesPerform cost estimates for mechanical scopes (welding, lifting operations, logistics, fabrication, project supervision)Assess availability of internal and external resourcesIdentify, assess, and manage project risks and opportunitiesParticipate in contract negotiations with clients and key suppliersEnsure compliance with internal governance and approval processesSupport a smooth handover from tendering to execution by contributing to project kickoff preparation, validation, and organizationEnsure that lessons learned from previous projects are properly incorporated into new bidsB] Project Execution & Site ManagementManage and deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards:Lead and coordinate site teams including foremen, welders, and pipefittersDevelop the project execution plan and site-specific safety planStructure the project using WBS, detailed schedules, and budget allocationsNegotiate and manage subcontractor agreementsOrganize site setup (temporary facilities, tools, scaffolding, lifting equipment, etc.)Supervise skilled labor directly on siteEnsure completion of all site-related administrative requirements (time registration, work permits, workforce declarations, equipment tracking, etc.)Maintain detailed and coordinated planning to minimize co-activity and improve efficiency, with full stakeholder alignmentMonitor progress against schedule, budget, and critical pathEnforce health, safety, and environmental requirements (work permits, toolbox talks, LMRA, HSE plan implementation)Oversee quality control activities throughout fabrication and installationManage contractual and legal obligations, including change and variation ordersProduce regular project reports and lead progress and review meetingsClose out projects by finalizing documentation, archiving records, closing costs, and capturing lessons learnedC] Operational Improvement – Boiler Solutions UnitContribute to the continuous improvement of the operational unit by supporting:Efficient invoicing and cost trackingBookkeeping and compliance with local regulationsIdentification and qualification of new subcontractorsEvaluation and performance monitoring of site personnelStructured document and data managementExploration of improved operational methods and processesProfile & RequirementsLocation: Based in Ans (Liège), with frequent travel to project sites across BelgiumLanguages:Fluent French requiredEnglish and/or Dutch considered a strong assetTechnical Expertise:EN and ASME codesWelding Procedure Specifications (WPS)Quality Control documentationTIG and electrode welding processesExperience:Proven track record in mechanical construction of high-pressure boiler systemsHands-on experience with welding of pressure parts and EN 12952 standardsBackground in project and bid management for pressure equipmentStrong understanding of contractual frameworks and obligations
