Optimus Search is looking for an experienced Freelance Mechanical Design Engineer for an initial 6-month project with an engineering company based in East Flanders.
This is a hands-on mechanical design position requiring strong experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, taking designs from concept through to detailed manufacturing drawings.
Responsibilities
- Develop 3D mechanical models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor
- Produce detailed 2D technical and manufacturing drawings in AutoCAD
- Design mechanical components, machinery and assemblies
- Modify and improve existing mechanical designs
- Produce BOMs and technical documentation
- Apply tolerances, GD&T and relevant engineering standards
- Support design-for-manufacture and assembly
- Work closely with production, manufacturing and project teams
- Participate in design reviews and resolve technical issues
Your Profile
- Strong background in Mechanical Design Engineering
- Excellent Autodesk Inventor experience
- Strong AutoCAD knowledge
- Experience with machinery, industrial equipment or mechanical assemblies
- Good understanding of manufacturing, machining and fabrication
- Comfortable working independently in a freelance environment
- Available for an initial 6-month contract
