- Function: Network Security Engineer
- Location: Brussels - Belgium
- Type of work: On-Site
- Type of contract: B2B / Freelancer

- Manage and maintain network and firewall systems.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Implement and enforce security protocols across systems.
- Coordinate with teams to resolve technical problems.
- Document system changes and configurations.
- Ensure compliance with IT standards and best practices.
We are looking for someone with 5 years or more of experience that has:
- Strong expertise in network protocols
- In-depth understanding of network security principles
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, including change management, incident management, configuration management, and availability management
- Proficient in wide area network protocols such as ISDN, ADSL, and others
Technical Environment, Tools, and Products:
- Expertise in administering Fortinet firewall systems, including content inspection, firewall statistics, and associated security tools
- Proficiency in managing CISCO firewall systems, with experience in content inspection and security tools
- Extensive experience with operating systems, including Microsoft Windows and Linux
- Strong skills in network management, monitoring, and debugging tools
- Knowledgeable in PKI infrastructure
- Proficient in dial-in systems with authentication and encryption
- Experienced in Intrusion Detection Systems, specifically FirePower Threat Defense (FTD)
- Familiarity with proxy servers
- Basic understanding of application layer XML filters
Additionally, you also need to have:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French
- EU Secret Security Clearance (Mandatory)
Regarding education and certifications:
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field
- CCNA Cyber Ops certification
- CCT Routing & Switching certification
- Additional certifications in technology-related domains
