Process Engineer Role

The Process Engineer role is focused on implementing improvements to the process and workflow of the machines included in the process.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Manage activities of the production units:
  • Monitoring & support daily operations and problem resolution.
  • Monitor daily critical process indicators.
  • Analyze outliers and spreads and implement direct action.
  • Support operators in their daily problems.
  • Work as a team on recurring problems.
  • Be responsible for production in an area under your responsibility.
  • Communicate in a structured manner (emails, analyses, templates) critical information.
  • Achieve production levels collectively with the operator’s team.
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings.
  • Redact work procedures (work instructions).
  • Manage on-call duties 1 time per 5-6 weeks.
Improvement activities and projects:
  • Study production improvement and loss minimization projects with the relevant managers.
  • Analyze past performance and root causes of non-performance; implement sustainable solutions as a team.
  • Follow the integration of new digital technologies; supervise testing and fine-tuning of processes.
Operations of the machines:
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of machines and production lines.
  • Collaborate with maintenance to maximize production time.
  • Study potential machine improvements and validate them with the right people.
Relationships within the company and across departments:
  • Be an active part of the global team of process engineers in the different Hitachi Energy units (Sweden, Bulgaria, China).
  • Collaborate with the Quality team to identify, understand, and correct quality issues.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to understand the plant's digital issues and ensure the development of consistent functionality for the business and operations.
  • Collaborate with the planning team to identify production delays and proactively find solutions.
  • Work hand in hand with all operators.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards.

Your Background/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, electronic, or electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the energy industry; minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Living within 45 minutes by car from Jummet.
  • Solid understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFA (Design for Assembly), and DFS (Design for Serviceability) principles.
  • Experience conducting FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
  • Experience working with stakeholders from different technology areas: R&D, Quality.
  • Experience in, or ability to develop, project management and technical leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) and ability to work in teams.
  • Analytical skills and experience with planning, conducting, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience in working in an Agile environment.
  • Structured in daily work and communications.
  • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience with tools: Word, Excel, Teams, SAP, PowerBI.
  • Comfortable understanding and using digital tools (database structure, user interface creation, machine and equipment connectivity, HMI configurations, etc.).

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Tableau, MES production, Scheduler/Planner.
  • Passionate about technology and sharing knowledge amongst peers.
  • An interest in LEAN, TPM, Lean Six Sigma, and operational excellence methodologies.
