Mechanical & Thermal Design Engineer

We are currently supporting an innovative high-tech company based in the Brussels area in its search for a Mechanical & Thermal Design Engineer to join its growing R&D team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from concept design to industrialization.
Your Responsibilities
As a Mechanical & Thermal Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, validating, and optimizing products for manufacturing.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks
Developing and maintaining detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings
Performing Finite Element Method (FEM/FEA) analyses for structural validation
Conducting thermal simulations and thermal performance assessments
Performing tolerance stack-up calculations and design verification
Driving design improvements with a strong Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design to Manufacturing mindset
Collaborating closely with production, suppliers, quality, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
Supporting product industrialization and transition from prototype to serial production
Identifying and solving technical challenges related to performance, reliability, and manufacturability
Your Profile
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field
Solid experience in mechanical product development within an industrial environment
Strong proficiency with:
SolidWorks
3D CAD Design
FEM / FEA analysis
Tolerance calculations and stack-up analysis
Thermal analysis and heat transfer principles
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial constraints
Hands-on, pragmatic engineering approach
Ability to bridge the gap between design and production
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Languages
English is mandatory
Any additional European language (French, Dutch, German, Italian, Spanish, etc.) is considered a strong asset
