Skills and experiences
- You have a passion for Microsoft technology and a deep understanding of cloud computing technologies and emerging computing trends.
- You are an expert on Azure Cloud or want to develop into one in the coming years.
- You have experience with Microsoft technologies, including at least three years of working experience with Microsoft Azure, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform, PowerShell, ...).
- Besides these technical skills, you are fluent in Dutch and English.
- 3-5+ years of experience as a System Engineer, Backup Engineer, or related role.
- Proven experience with Veeam Backup & Replication in both physical and virtual environments.
- Hands-on experience with VMware virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with SAN/NAS storage solutions.
- Experience in configuring and managing Windows Failover Clustering environments.

As a System Engineer, you will be part of our Infrastructure Managed Services Level 2 Engineers. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining and optimizing our backup and disaster recovery systems, ensuring data integrity, and supporting the overall IT infrastructure. In addition to Veeam Backup, strong knowledge of Windows Failover Clustering will be highly valued, enabling you to help improve the resilience and high availability of our server environments. You will have the possibility to:
- Design, configure, and maintain Veeam Backup & Catalyst Replication (HPE Storeonce) solutions for physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
- Perform regular backups, tests, and restores to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Monitor backup jobs and troubleshoot failures, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and ensure they are regularly tested.
- Manage and configure Windows Failover Clustering for high-availability solutions.
- Support clustered applications and services to ensure continuity and failover capabilities.
- Troubleshoot cluster-related issues and assist in performing regular cluster testing to ensure reliability.
- Install, configure, and manage VMware ESXi hosts and vCenter Server for virtualization environments.
- Monitor and manage virtual machine (VM) performance and resource allocation (CPU, memory, storage).
- Perform upgrades, patching, and maintenance of ESXi hosts and vCenter to ensure stability and security.
- Troubleshoot VMware-related issues, including VM failures, host performance degradation, and storage-related problems.
- Configure and manage storage solutions, ensuring they align with backup and clustering strategies.
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and capacity planning.
- Automate backup and failover processes, reporting, and monitoring using scripting tools and Veeam ONE.
- Provide level 2/3 support for Veeam, Windows Failover Clusters, and infrastructure-related issues.
