Job Description:What do we do at Customaite? As a niche player in Belgium, we have developed an exceptionally strong product for the customs market, which is already being successfully used by several clients. We strongly believe in further expanding our product both nationally and internationally and are therefore expanding our engineering team. Our product is developed in Leuven. We have a small team with a true start-up mentality. Customaite is part of the AE Group, allowing you to benefit from the expertise not just of the team but the entire AE Consulting group.
What Do We Expect from You?
- As a Junior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in extending our product to ensure it meets the needs of our customers, such as working on the integration layers between Customaite and our clients, by modifying APIs and master data systems as needed, and by fine-tuning our extraction services.
- Proficiency in Java and/or Python is a plus, but not required. Willingness to learn is key. Experience with JavaScript (Vue), Kubernetes, and Azure is nice-to-have but not required.
- Contribute to an excellent customer service: participate in a support rotation with fellow engineers and respond to tickets to ensure the smooth operation of Customaite.
- Collaborate with and learn from experienced team members, including senior engineers with backgrounds in various start-ups and big tech organizations like Uber, to learn and grow your skills.
- Opportunities to work with cutting-edge technologies such as AI, LLM, and distributed systems as our product scales.
Requirements
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- A product and start-up mindset, eager to take ownership and learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Excitement to join a growing product team and help shape the future of our product.
- As our team is mainly Dutch speaking, a proficient knowledge of the Dutch language is required.
