About the role
Meogroup is recruiting on behalf of one of its clients, a leading international industrial player in the metals sector. In a highly energy-intensive business, controlling energy consumption and costs is a direct driver of competitiveness and a cornerstone of the company's decarbonisation roadmap.
In this context, our client is looking for an Energy Manager to steer the energy performance of its production site and lead energy efficiency and transition projects.
Key responsibilities
Energy performance management
- Monitor and analyse energy consumption (electricity, natural gas, steam, compressed air, water) by installation and production line.
- Build and drive energy performance indicators (KPIs, specific consumption per tonne produced) and report to site management and the group.
- Identify deviations and savings opportunities, working closely with production and maintenance teams.
Efficiency and decarbonisation projects
- Define and lead the energy efficiency action plan (furnaces, heat recovery, motors and drives, compressed air, lighting, etc.).
- Build business cases (ROI, CAPEX, expected savings) and follow projects through to commissioning.
- Contribute to the decarbonisation roadmap: electrification, renewable energy, CO₂ emissions reduction.
Energy procurement and costs
- Work on the energy purchasing strategy (contracts, hedging, market monitoring).
- Optimise the energy bill: contracted capacity, peak management, flexibility and demand response, grid tariffs.
- Prepare the energy budget and track variances.
- Identify and secure available regional and European subsidies.
Engagement and awareness
- Act as the site's energy reference and lead a network of energy champions across the workshops.
- Raise awareness and train teams on energy best practices.
Your profile
- Master's degree in engineering (electromechanical, energy, industrial or equivalent).
- 5+ years of experience in energy management within a heavy industrial environment (metals, chemicals, glass, paper, cement, etc.).
- Knowledge of energy markets and the Belgian and European regulatory framework.
- Strong analytical mindset and comfortable with data (advanced Excel; Power BI or energy monitoring systems are a plus).
- Ability to drive cross-functional projects with production, maintenance, finance and procurement.
- Fluent French and professional English required
