Location: Brussels, Belgium

Job Description:

  • Improve and protect human health, and support the modernisation of Europe's health systems;
  • ensure that all food, feed and medicinal products marketed in the EU are safe and that EU standards are promoted globally;
  • protect animal health and welfare and plant health;
  • contribute to a well-functioning and fair internal market in food.

NATURE OF TASKS

  • Analysis of the integration of different information systems.
  • Data analysis and data modelling.
  • Coordination of the implementation of the technical architecture.
  • Technical interface between the project leaders, the developers (internal and external) and the technical teams responsible for information systems to integrate or connect to.
  • Production of software architecture documents and other technical specifications.
  • Definition of interoperability standards and interfaces.
  • Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users or their representatives.
  • Assistance during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation and reporting.
  • Creating designs and blueprints of Cloud Architecture.
  • Review of the architecture of existing systems in the context of their integration in a common platform or interoperability with them.
  • Review of the architecture of existing systems to migrate of existing system in the cloud.
  • Design and development of architecture components and building blocks using cloud components
  • Contribute to the control of the quality of technical deliverables produced by "extra-muros" contractors.

SPECIFIC EXPERTISE AND TECHNOLOGIES

  • At least 10 years of specific expertise in architecture best practices and patterns.
  • At least 5 years of specific expertise in microservices and architecture in the cloud .
  • At least 10 years of specific expertise in applications design.
  • At least 7 years of specific expertise in modelling tools.
  • At least 5 years of specific expertise in Enterprise Architecture.
  • At least 5 years of specific expertise in relational DBMS, data modelling and database design techniques and tools (e.g. SQL Developer Data Modeler, Oracle SQL Developer).
  • At least 5 years of specific expertise in business process analysis.
  • At least 5 years of specific expertise in Service-Oriented Architecture and interoperability technology (web services, message-oriented middleware, service-oriented bus, event.

KNOWLEDGE AND (NON-TECHNICAL) SKILLS

  • Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application architecture and design.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, ease of communication.
  • Good drafting skills.
  • Ability to give technical presentations also to a non-specialist audience.
  • Ability to apply high quality standards.
  • Capability of integration in an international/multicultural working environment.
  • High command of spoken and written English
  • Willingness to work with two different teams – one based in Brussels and the other in Luxembourg.

CERTIFICATION AND/OR STANDARDS

OPTIONAL certification:

  • Certified DevSecOps Professional (CDP) certification.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
