Quality Engineer – Food & Biotech ProjectsLocation: GhentSalary: €70,000About the roleWe are looking for a motivated and proactive Quality Engineer with a strong interest in food and biotechnology projects. You will play a key role in supporting the preparation, execution and follow-up of innovative food-grade pilot and development activities, while contributing to the continuous improvement of quality and food safety systems.ProfileThe ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in nutrition, food technology, chemical engineering, biological engineering or a related scientific field.You preferably have knowledge and/or experience with quality and food safety systems such as HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO 9001 or other GFSI-recognized standards. Experience with internal audits, inspections or certifications is considered an asset.You work in a structured, accurate and pragmatic way, with strong attention to detail. You are eager to learn, proactive, and motivated by continuous improvement and innovation. You are able to work independently, while also collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.ResponsibilitiesSupport the preparation and follow-up of new food-related pilot and development projectsCoordinate and contribute to HACCP studies to ensure pilot activities are carried out under food-grade conditionsFollow up pilot runs from a quality and food safety perspective, including communication with customers or external partnersAssist in the implementation, maintenance and improvement of Quality and Food Safety Management SystemsSupport internal and external audits to ensure smooth executionPerform quality-related administrative tasks, including:Document control and managementCAPA follow-upKPI monitoringOrganization of inspections, audits and training sessionsManagement review supportSupplier quality managementApply and help monitor compliance with food safety and quality requirements on the work floorWork closely with colleagues across different departmentsCollaborate with other Quality Engineers under the guidance of a Quality Manager
