Design Assurance & Integrity Engineer (M/F/X)

Your mission:

SONACA's "Airworthiness, Safety, Design Assurance & Integrity" Office is responsible to ensure the adequacy of SONACA's Design Management System with the Design Assurance requirements and principles cascaded by Customers, Authorities and Standards for which SONACA is certified (i.e. EN9100, Part 21 Sub part J, …), as well as to ensure the respect of the Airworthiness and Safety rules within the Engineering department.

The "Engineering Quality" Office is responsible to ensure the operational quality for the projects (including the quality coordination with subsidiaries & subcontractors).

The Design Quality Assurance & Design Integrity Engineer participates in all activities managed within "Airworthiness, Safety, Design Assurance & Integrity" and "Quality Engineering" Offices:

  • Develop and maintain the Engineering Quality Assurance System(s).
  • Act as Engineering quality focal point for the Customers, maintain the interface documentation, and monitor the correct application within the Engineering directorate.
  • Prepare the surveillance plans and ensure related Audits and reports.
  • Prepare and participate in customers and external Audits.
  • Audit and evaluate quality systems adequation of subsidiaries and subcontractors.
  • Maintain the technical signature delegations (internal and external) and publish the authorized signatory lists.
  • Prepare training support and ensure training for Airworthiness and Quality assurance system.
  • Coordinate the correct implementation of procedure documentation and norms.
  • Remain up to date on applicable regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with representatives of the Quality Directorate.
  • Support businesses for Root cause analysis as well as definition of immediate and corrective actions.
  • Provide the relevant Engineering Quality KPIs.
  • Ensure synthesis of technical and organizational risks, issues, and opportunities.
  • Coordinate the business processes creation, updates, and continuous improvement.
  • Define, maintain, and continuously improve content and templates for the Engineering Quality Gates.
  • Participate in project gates.
  • Promote the continuous improvement of the Businesses and the Quality Management System.
  • Promote and record lessons learned.
  • Release and follow red alerts.

Your Profile:

  • Master's degree in mechanical / Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience in Aerospace Design Quality Assurance. Airworthiness experience is an asset.
  • Trained as an auditor is a must.
  • Knowledge of regulations (Part 21, CS25, EN9100, EAQG, …) is a must.
  • Analysis, solutions, results, and customer satisfaction oriented.
  • Ability to work in a transverse/matrix organization with project teams and businesses.
  • Promote motivation and teamwork.
  • Easily establish contacts with all project and business stakeholders.
  • Promote good relationships and manage disagreements with tact and diplomacy.
  • Synthetic and easy written and oral communication.
  • Transparency & Autonomy.
  • Manage adequately pressure and adapt easily to changes.
  • Flexible, mobile, and available for external missions for several days.
  • Good understanding of main processes and activities performed within aerospace engineering (design, stress, M&P, configuration management, tests…)
  • MS Office suite, SharePoint, Airbus tools (is an asset).
  • Good level in English is mandatory (spoken & written).
