Brief Call: Our process typically begins with a brief virtual/phone conversation to get to know you The objective? Learn about you, understand your motivations, and make sure we have the right job for you

Interviews (the average number of interviews is 3 - the number may vary depending on the level of seniority required for the position). During the interviews, you will meet people from our team: your line manager of course, but also other people related to your future role. We will talk in depth about you, your experience, and skills, but also about the position and what will be expected of you. Of course, you will also get to know Amaris: our culture, our roots, our teams, and your career opportunities

Case study: Depending on the position, we may ask you to take a test. This could be a role play, a technical assessment, a problem-solving scenario, etc.

Job description

At Amaris Consulting, we are dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service to our clients. We are currently seeking a talented Safety Engineer to join our dynamic team, based in Belgium. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of nuclear operations, contributing to the development and implementation of safety protocols and standards.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety management systems and protocols in accordance with nuclear industry regulations and standards.
  • Conduct safety assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project management teams to integrate safety considerations into all phases of project development.
  • Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including risk assessments, safety reports, and incident investigations.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on safety procedures and best practices in the nuclear sector.
  • Monitor safety performance and implement corrective actions as necessary to enhance safety culture.
  • Interface with regulatory bodies and stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve safety measures.

Your Profile:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in safety engineering or a similar role within the nuclear sector.
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear safety regulations and standards (e.g., IAEA, NRC).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English, French, and Dutch.
  • Proven experience in conducting safety assessments and audits with a focus on risk management.
  • Proficient in safety management tools and methodologies.
  • A proactive problem-solver with a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
