Freelance – Belgium – in office / hybrid / remote (pending customer project)
Job ContentThe System Validation Engineer performs functional and technical testing of products in development and analyzes the test results. The Test Engineer ensures the quality of the end product by identifying bugs prior to customer exposure, resulting in the end user receiving the best user experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in system validation and embedded software testing
- Experienced with C, C++, and Python
- Create test specifications based on requirements and/or develop test scripts within an automated test environment
- Automatic test document generation based on existing framework
- Knowledge of wireless communication protocols such as BLE, WIFI, etc.
- Team player with excellent communication skills in English to perform optimally at our customer.
Projects will be performed both at our customers throughout Belgium and at Essensium's premises in Leuven. You will be assigned to different projects over the year, and the context can change regularly. Hence, flexibility and adaptability are key
Knowledge and ExperienceAs a Software and System Validation Engineer, you have the following responsibilities:
- Plan and perform test campaigns.
- Design & execute test procedures.
- Analyze data to detect anomalies and make recommendations for improvement of products.
- Characterize and report on performance.
- Write scripts and programs to automate the execution of tests and data analysis.
- Report defects and follow up on firmware adaptations.
- Work in close cooperation with all disciplines involved in the development of embedded products.
Specific Appreciated Skills & Background:
Experience with Wi-Fi, UHF, Bluetooth, LTE, 3G/2G is a plus. Knowledge of CAN, USB, LAN, COM RS32 is also beneficial.
Other important elements next to pure technical experience are a true passion for Open-Source Software, willingness to learn, openness, flexibility, being a team player, and being service-minded to our customers. A driving license is required to work at our customers if needed (some customer projects are in their offices throughout Belgium).
