Location: Brussels,Belgium(hybridworking)EngagementStatus: Freelanceuntilendof2026Overview We’repartneredwithalargepharmaceuticalorganisationtosupportinlookingforanExternalResearchOpportunity(ERO)Lead toowntheend-to-endmanagementofexternallysponsoredresearchwithhealthcarestakeholders.Thisisahigh-impactroleattheintersectionofmedical,legal,andcompliance,supportingInvestigatorInitiatedStudies(IIS),ExternalResearchCollaborations(ERC),andExternalResearchServices(ERS)acrossmultipletherapeuticareas.You’llactasthesubjectmatterexpert,drivinggovernance,contracting,andoversighttoensureresearchisdeliveredcompliantly,efficiently,andwithrealscientificvalue.KeyResponsibilities
- Leadthereview,endorsement,andlifecyclemanagement ofexternalresearchopportunities
- Chairanddrivereviewcommitteemeetings anddecision-makingprocesses
- Developandnegotiateresearchagreementsandstatementsofwork ,partneringwithmedical,clinical,legal,andcomplianceteams
- Ensureongoingcontractcompliance,milestonetracking,andperformanceoversight
- Actastheprimaryliaisonwithinternalandexternalstakeholders,escalatingrisksandissuesasneeded
- Supporttheevolutionofexternalresearchframeworks,processes,andsystems
- Overseeexternalserviceproviderstoensuredeliveryagainstagreedoperationalmetrics
- 3–5+years’experience inPharma/Biotech,Academia,ResearchInstitutions,orCROs
- 3+years’experience managingcontractsacrosstheirfulllifecycle
- Strongexperienceinprojectandstakeholdermanagement
- Solidunderstandingofpharmaceuticalresearchregulationsandcompliancerequirements
- Provenabilitytomanagemultiplecomplexinitiativesinafast-pacedenvironment
- Researchcontractdevelopmentandnegotiation
- Externalresearchgovernance(IIS,ERC,ERS)
- Regulatoryandcomplianceoversight
- Cross-functionalprojectmanagement
- Vendorandserviceprovidermanagement
- Confidentdecision-makerwithstrongjudgement
- Excellentstakeholderengagementandinfluencingskills
