Test and characterization Engineer – Magnetic Devices
il y a 3 semaines
The explosive growth of our digital footprint has resulted in a massive advancement in chip technologies. The growth in computing capabilities has outshot the growth in SoC memory capacity, resulting in a memory bandwidth bottleneck known as the ‘memory wall’. To overcome this challenge, magnetic technologies such as MRAM are being explored. We are looking for a highly motivated research engineer who can support rapid development of such technologies on 300mm wafer-scale processes. As a Test and Characterization Engineer on Magnetic Devices, you will be part of a team of device experts working on enabling next generation memories. Your role will be critical to enable rapid technology readiness level (TRL) advancement of our most promising memory technology solutions. Specifically, your role will entail the following day-to-day responsibilities:
- Develop robust measurement routines and statistical analysis techniques to deliver insight into the device performance characteristics, in collaboration with subject matter experts/device physicists.
- Perform electrical characterization of memory devices, both at single cell and dense array level.
- Process data post-measurements, analyze results, and generate detailed technical reports. You will also be required to disseminate this information in relevant technical meetings.
- Support the development of new test vehicles through design of dedicated test structures to validate new device concepts on new mask tapeouts. This work will cover all aspects of design from conceptualization, DRC checks, post-layout validation, and introduction of the new test vehicle to electrical characterization setups. This work will require strong collaboration with other in-house experts.
- Interact with internal experts and industrial customers in the frame of affiliation programs and/or bilateral projects.
- Be the owner/key technical expert of at least one memory characterization tool in the department.
- Contribute to innovation, both within and outside of the scope of your role.
We offer you the opportunity to join one of the world’s premier research centers in nanotechnology at its headquarters in Leuven, Belgium. With your talent, passion, and expertise, you’ll become part of a team that makes the impossible possible. Together, we shape the technology that will determine the society of tomorrow.
We are committed to being an inclusive employer and proud of our open, multicultural, and informal working environment with ample possibilities to take initiative and show responsibility. In everything we do, your future colleagues are guided by the imec values of passion, excellence, connectedness, and integrity. We commit to supporting and guiding you in this process, not only with words but also with tangible actions. Through imec.academy, 'our corporate university', we actively invest in your development to further your technical and personal growth.
We are aware that your valuable contribution makes imec a top player in its field. Your energy and commitment are therefore appreciated by means of a market-appropriate salary with many fringe benefits.
Who You AreYou have a MSc degree in electrical engineering, electronics, applied physics, or a closely related discipline with relevant work experience (3+ years).
You have broad knowledge of measurement techniques and a drive to be in the lab/fab.
You possess an enthusiastic and “always improving” mentality.
We appreciate your open mind and multi-disciplinary attitude.
You are creative and like taking initiative.
You are a fast learner, passionate about grasping new concepts and skills.
You communicate in a clear and effective way. You are persuasive and assertive while maintaining a constructive attitude.
You demonstrate flexibility to change between different projects according to changing priorities.
You are adept at programming scripts for data post-processing and analysis (Python, Matlab).
Given the international character of imec, a high level of English fluency is necessary.
