Hologic Diagenode is an international biotech company that develops and commercializes innovative instruments, reagents, and services for life science research. As the leader in the field of Epigenomics, Hologic Diagenode provides comprehensive solutions for chromatin profiling and DNA methylation research. Our product portfolio includes mechanical shearing instruments (Bioruptor, Megaruptor), kits for chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP, Cut&Tag) and DNA methylation analysis, and high-quality antibodies. We also offer Epigenomics Lab Services to support discovery, mechanism of action studies, transgenerational research, epigenomic biomarker identification, including cancer biomarkers, and functional epigenomics.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Innovation and Lab Operations to lead our R&D and lab services teams. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the innovation strategy and culture, the technology development projects and ensuring the efficient execution of lab services.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management: Oversee and mentor managers of the R&D and lab services teams. Develop and implement strategies to enhance team performance and operational efficiency.
  • Innovation & Development: Lead the development of new technologies and tests, ensuring alignment with market needs and company goals. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the R&D team.
  • Operational Strategy & Execution: Ensure the seamless integration of new tests from R&D into lab services. Formulate and execute strategies to optimize lab operations and enhance service delivery.
  • Performance Monitoring: Set performance metrics for R&D and lab services teams and monitor progress. Provide regular performance reports to senior leadership.
  • Resource Management: Ensure optimal use of resources across R&D and lab operations. Manage budgets and ensure cost-effective operations.

Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards in lab operations. Proficiency in using relevant software tools for research and lab management.
  • Skills: Exceptional leadership and team management skills. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in planning, organizing, and executing innovative projects in relevant software tools for R&D and lab management. Financial acumen to manage budgets and optimize cost efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in R&D and/or lab operations management. Proven track record of managing and leading diverse scientific and operational teams. Experience in technology development, test implementation, and lab services. In-depth understanding of the Epigenomics and/or Genomics market. Experience in inorganic growth initiatives and conducting due diligence.
  • Education: Advanced degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering). MBA or equivalent is a plus.

Additional details: This role requires a valid driver's license and the ability to travel as needed to support the R&D and lab operations teams and meet with various stakeholders.
