Line Supervisor

As a Line Supervisor in the Operations department at our headquarters in Kortrijk, you will manage and supervise production lines and operations. Daily you assure production process within defined quality, quantity and cost, whilst respecting safety and environment.

You will be responsible for the Final Assembly Defense department for the production of rugged displays and computer products.

You will lead up to 25 people in a day shift and report to the Manufacturing Manager.

Your responsibilities:

• Lead a team of blue collar operators to ensure efficiency, production targets and quality in daily operations.
• Implement and maintain the resource planning and work allocation on the production line to meet deadlines and sufficiency.
• Ensure material gets timely called off and proper work flow is maintained among various stages to achieve daily production targets for the Final Assembly Defense department.
• Monitor and improve processes to optimize productivity; corrective and preventive actions are implemented on various stages of the line to achieve improvements in First Pass Yield and defined quality targets for the line.
• Monitor and improve processes to optimize productivity to ensure the least possible delay in case of non-conformity.
• Ensure the on-time effective implementation of agreed improvement actions for various processes.
• Train and mentor team members about changes in work instructions, procedures or design etc. and on feedback on output, quality, cost, safety, housekeeping etc.
• Organize and structure a multiskilled team by on-the-job and refresher training for the operators.
• Support and initiate the implementation of lean manufacturing in the production area.
• Support the introduction/testing of new products on the line during product development phase in communication with the NPI responsible and prototype department.
• Motivate people and collaborate with other departments to achieve overall company goals by involving them in the process and being open to their suggestions.
• Join the production team in projects bigger than the department in overall production improvements projects.

Minimum Requirements:

• You obtained a Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent by experience; if in electronics, it is a great asset.
• You have a minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in leading a production team.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve production targets and quality standards.
• Being assertive, a self-starter with a positive attitude.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and Operational Excellence principles is an advantage.
