Remote (Europe) We’re supporting a rapidly scaling fintech that provides software and services to power small business lending for banks and financial institutions. Their platform is undergoing a major transformation to modern, AI-driven architecture. The business is expanding its engineering organisation significantly, with plans to grow to 100+ engineers , and is hiring experienced backend engineers to help rebuild and scale the core platform. The role We’re looking for Senior/Principal Backend Engineers (8–10+ years) to design, develop, and scale a backend built in Node.js on AWS. This is a hands‑on engineering role where you’ll build secure, high-performance services used by financial institutions at meaningful scale. You’ll help drive the shift from legacy components toward modern microservices, AI-enabled systems , and a fully extensible platform for partners and clients. What you’ll work on / with Design and develop backend Node.js microservices deployed on AWS Lambda, DynamoDB and container platforms Docker and Kubernetes Optimise backend systems for high performance, reliability, and scale Contribute to CI/CD improvements and automation for rapid release cycles Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, ML, Frontend, and Cloud teams What we’re looking for 8+ years backend engineering experience with a strong focus on Node.js Strong AWS experience.
