Om ons departement Aerodrome Operations te versterken, zijn we op zoek naar een Wildlife Hazard Manager (M/V/X). In deze functie bent u verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerpen, beheren en coördineren van het wildlife beleid op en rond Brussels Airport. Dit beleid heeft als doel de risico's van dieren op en rond het vliegveld te verminderen en draagt hierdoor bij aan de veiligheid van het vliegverkeer. In die hoedanigheid stuur je het Bird & Wildlife team aan in hun dagdagelijkse operaties. Wat je bij ons zal realiseren: Wildlife Beleid: Ontwerpen, beheren en coördineren van het wildlife beleid op en rond Brussels Airport om de risico's van dieren te verminderen en zo bij te dragen aan de veiligheid van het vliegverkeer. Implementeren van diverse technische middelen voor actieve preventie tegen ge dentificeerde probleemsoorten. Teammanagement: Het aansturen van het team van Wildlife Controllers (15 FTE). Coachen, evalueren en ontwikkelen van medewerkers om hun competenties, vaardigheden en knowhow optimaal te benutten en als een goed functionerend team te werken. Toewijzen van rollen en verantwoordelijkheden aan teamleden en zorgen voor adequate training en middelen. BCU-operaties: Plannen, organiseren, toezien en deelnemen aan de operaties van de Bird Control Unit (BCU). On-field begeleiding geven aan de Wildlife controllers. Wildlife Expertise: Fungeren als technisch specialist in het dagelijks beheer van de BCU en als aanspreekpunt voor andere luchthavengebruikers. Habitatbeheer: Coördineren van habitat- en landbeheeractiviteiten om de aantrekkelijkheid voor wilde dieren te verminderen. Samenwerken met relevante autoriteiten en belanghebbenden om landgebruik in de omgeving te beheren. Procedure Implementatie: Opmaken, implementeren en actualiseren van procedures, werkinstructies en de BCU manual in lijn brengen met de wet en regelgeving en dit in nauwe samenwerking met de Wildlife & Habitat Control Expert. Tool Implementatie: In staan voor het juiste gebruik en de implementatie van (nieuwe) gebruikerstools (administratie, rapportering, etc.). Op basis van data mitigerende maatregelen bepalen en actief risicobeheer doen. Adviesrol: Adviseren van het management in de te nemen acties ter reductie van de aanwezigheid van vogels en preventie van bird/wildlife strikes. Budgetbeheer: Opstellen en opvolgen van de nodige budgetten voor de BCU dienst. Winteroperaties: Actieve ondersteuning van winteroperaties. Communicatie: Onderhouden van communicatie met niet-vliegveldinstanties, lokale grondeigenaren en andere belanghebbenden. Monitoren van ontwikkelingen die het risico van wilde dieren kunnen vergroten en hierop reageren. Wildlife Comité: Oprichten en leiden van het aerodrome wildlife committee, een uitwisselingsplatform voor alle stakeholders. Lid van het Local Runway Safety Team. Wat Jou Onderscheidt: Opleidingsniveau: Bachelor- of masterdiploma in milieuwetenschappen, biologie, bio-landbouwkunde, ecologie, of een gerelateerd vakgebied. Werkervaring: Aantoonbare ervaring in risicobeheer, natuurbeheer of een vergelijkbare rol. Leiderschapsvaardigheden: Sterke leiderschaps- en managementvaardigheden. Communicatieve Vaardigheden: Uitstekende communicatieve en interpersoonlijke vaardigheden. Samenwerkingsvermogen: Vermogen om effectief samen te werken met diverse belanghebbenden. Regelgeving Kennis: Kennis van relevante wet- en regelgeving. Technische Kennis: Heeft technische kennis om wapens veilig te hanteren en te onderhouden. Opleidingen & Certificaten: Heeft of zal de nodige opleidingen volbracht-volbrengen/certificaten behaald/behalen in het kader van een 'safety critical function'. Rijbewijs: Is in het bezit van een burgerrijbewijs B en een luchthavenrijbewijs A + B. Taalvaardigheid: Heeft het vereiste niveau van talenkennis (Nederlands, Engels en basis in Frans). Cursus: In het bezit zijn van de cursus Wildlife Hazard Management for Flight Safety of zal deze behalen. Strafregister: In het bezit van een blanco strafregister. Luchthaven kennis: Kennis van de topografie van de luchthaven en de verschillende luchthavenreglementen is een plus. Technische Systemen: Kennis van de werking van de voor de uitoefening van de functie vereiste toestellen en systemen alsook het begrijpen en interpreteren van daaruit vloeiende data.
