Job Description:Since first going into action in 1909, the BESIX Group has over the years grown into a multidisciplinary company with a leading position in its markets: construction, property development and concessions. BESIX Contracting specializes in construction, infrastructure and marine works, often in contracts with a high level of complexity. In Benelux and France, the Group's regional affiliates BESIX Infra, Belemco, Cobelba, Jacques Delens, Vanhout, Wust and Lux TP ensure a strong presence and a local approach. With Franki Foundations, West Construct, Socogetra, Sanotec and Van den Berg, the Group offers specialist niche solutions for the building market like deep foundations, geo-engineering, road construction, water treatment and cable and pipeline construction.
Backed by our experience in our home markets, we have built up strong positions outside Europe. A typical example is the Middle East, where over a 50 year period we have built up an impressive portfolio. This diversification in activities and geography pays off by reducing our risk exposure.
- You keep the global overview over the design of large construction/civil projects;
- You make use of your technical knowledge on the different aspects of construction design (architectural, mechanical, etc.) in order to design the project at the clients' demands;
- You coordinate the studies to be carried out (stability, geotechnical engineering, special techniques, BIM) and decide which studies can be carried out internally or externally;
- You conduct design meetings with the clients to hear about their specific demands for the project. In addition, you conduct internal design meetings and get all parties to work together to produce a winning design.
- You are the SPOC for bringing together all info from different disciplines in the tender (Estimating, BED, Methods & Planning, etc.).
- You're also responsible for the coordination of ad hoc questions of sites in execution (temporary structures for example).
- You are also responsible for the two design coordinators.
- You follow up closely on the complete project when started, especially on the constructability of the project.
- You have knowledge of the evolution of different technologies (drones, BIM, document management, etc.).
- You have a master's degree in architecture or construction.
- You have a minimum of 5 to 10 years relevant experience with the design of construction projects.
- You have sound technical and organizational insight.
- You are an enthusiastic manager who is able to steer and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
- You are an outstanding communicator and have the ability to convince others of your ideas.
- You have a result-oriented and problem-solving attitude.
- You perform well under pressure and like to work to deadlines.
- You can easily evaluate different ideas and make decisions quickly.
- You are fluent in Dutch, and you have a good level of English.
