Recruitment Consultant for Core IT Roles all over UK and Europe - Both Contracting and Permanent

We are looking for a Data Architect for a freelance project in Namur, Belgium. The position is Full-Time (5 days p/week) and hybrid over an initial duration of 10 Months, plus a high likelihood of extensions.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Architect to establish a new Business Intelligence (BI) environment. As a BI expert, you will be instrumental in developing data architecture plans, implementing BI governance, and building Power BI reports from diverse data sources. This role requires a strong leader who can translate business needs into technical specifications, manage technical teams, and mentor colleagues. The successful candidate will also act as an interim manager for the team.

Responsibilities:

1. Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications, encompassing data flows, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses.
2. Define and implement the data architecture framework, standards, and principles, including data modelling, metadata management, security protocols, reference data (e.g., product codes, customer categories), and master data management.
3. Develop end-to-end Power BI reports, from data extraction to report publishing.
4. Provide support for resolving system failures, acting as a primary contact and developing effective solutions.
5. Develop business cases for BI initiatives and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
6. Scale the existing infrastructure while maintaining alignment with the organization's overall design and architecture.
7. Manage technical teams in accordance with established architectural strategies.
8. Coach and mentor colleagues on BI best practices and technologies.
9. Interim Management: Assume full line management responsibilities for the team, including recruitment, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day management (leave approvals, absence tracking, task assignments), overtime authorization, and training requests.

Qualifications:

1. Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences, including application and engineering teams, executives, business users, and analysts.
2. Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, particularly in situations with ambiguous parameters.
3. In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with:
4. Power BI software
5. SQL Server
6. Data extraction from enterprise systems
7. Data extraction from search and analytics platforms
8. Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills & Experience:

1. Expert Level: Azure, Cloud, Data & Services Architecture, Data Architecture, Data Warehouse, SQL. Recent experience (this year) in all these areas is required.
2. Confirmed Level: Search and analytics platforms (e.g., Elasticsearch), ERP systems (e.g., SAP). Experience in these areas is required, though not necessarily within the current year.
