Your mission
As a Capacity Manager, you will be responsible for developing capacity plans and optimizing operational processes within our logistics chain. Focusing on lockers, post points, and transportation networks, you contribute to the efficient allocation of resources during peak periods and demand fluctuations. Your in-depth knowledge of the transportation and logistics sector enables you to anticipate challenges and develop scalable solutions that align with the business objectives of bpost group.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Strategic Capacity Planning and Optimization- Develop data-driven capacity strategies for lockers, post points, and transport resources to optimize operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Explore market and seasonal patterns and forecast capacity needs in both the short and long term.
- Identify and analyze operational bottlenecks, proposing proactive solutions that reduce costs and ensure operational continuity.
- Optimize the deployment of transport assets and logistics resources by working closely with operational teams and the control room.
- Implement flexible capacity plans to respond swiftly to peak periods and fluctuations.
- Analyze capacity utilization and performance, focusing on improving the utilization rate of resources.
- Conduct in-depth analyses and develop reports for continuous monitoring of capacity performance and utilization rates.
- Set up KPIs for capacity management that provide insights into operational performance and efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with BI teams to leverage analytics and visualization tools that support capacity management.
- Act as a liaison between operations, the commercial team, and other stakeholders to effectively align capacity needs and strategies.
- Communicate capacity insights and recommendations clearly and strategically to teams across departments.
- Support strategic projects focused on the development and optimization of the logistics network and resource allocation.
- Identify and implement process improvements within capacity management, emphasizing optimization and cost savings.
- Actively contribute to innovation in capacity management, including the development of scalable models and technologies that support capacity planning.
- Lead and guide a small team of capacity specialists, ensuring their professional growth and contributions to the broader capacity management process.
Profile
- Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in capacity management within the transportation or logistics sector, with a proven track record in optimizing resources and forecasting capacity needs.
- Extensive experience with capacity planning, forecasting, and operational control.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience in capacity and operational reporting.
- Strong communication skills for effectively conveying complex analyses and capacity insights to diverse stakeholders; good language skills: Dutch, French, English.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced and multidisciplinary environment, requiring close collaboration with various teams; experience in people management (leading a small team).
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau for capacity monitoring and analysis.
- Knowledge of optimization and simulation methodologies within capacity management.
- Affinity with innovative technologies and systems that support capacity management in the logistics sector.
