HV/MV Engineering Lead

As part of our Energy & Infrastructure activities, we are looking for a HV/MV Engineering Lead to support the engineering, integration and commissioning of strategic high-voltage grid infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in the design, review and implementation of transmission and distribution systems, ensuring seamless integration between high-voltage networks, substations, transformers and industrial facilities. Working closely with utilities, engineering contractors, equipment suppliers and transmission system operators, you will contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale energy infrastructure projects.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

• Support the engineering and integration of high-voltage transmission systems up to 150 kV.
• Review technical documentation related to high-voltage substations, cable systems and grid connection infrastructure.
• Coordinate engineering interfaces with contractors, suppliers and transmission system operators.
• Review grounding and earthing concepts related to substations, cable systems and industrial facilities.
• Review and integrate power transformers and associated protection and control systems.
• Support the engineering of medium-voltage installations including GIS switchgear and industrial MV distribution networks.
• Develop and review interlocking philosophies, operational concepts and network selectivity studies.
• Review protection and control schemes, including transformer protection, differential protection and grid protection systems.
• Coordinate technical interfaces with the transmission grid operator and follow-up Protection & Control requirements.
• Support telecommunications and fibre-optic integration related to grid connection infrastructure.
• Review and challenge electrical studies including short-circuit calculations, load flow studies, earthing studies and protection coordination studies.
• Prepare and review single-line diagrams for HV and MV electrical systems.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and commissioning activities.
• Develop energization procedures and support final grid connection activities.
• Prepare technical documentation, commissioning dossiers and QA/QC deliverables.

ABOUT YOU:

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or Electromechanics.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical power systems, transmission infrastructure or utility projects.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems.
• Experience with substations, transformers, protection systems and grid connection projects.
• Experience reviewing engineering studies such as short-circuit, load flow, selectivity and grounding studies.
• Knowledge of protection relays, transformer protection schemes and Protection & Control systems.
• Experience working with utilities, TSOs or large industrial power systems is considered a strong asset.
• Experience participating in FAT, SAT and commissioning activities.
• Strong ability to interact with contractors, engineering offices and technical stakeholders.
• Fluency in English and Dutch is mandatory
