Senior Sugar Technologist
The DSEC Senior Sugar Technologist is part of the DSEC Process Team.

The DSEC Senior Sugar Technologist Function is based on the main office in Belgium but almost 50% of the time should be dedicated to audit in factory and commissioning activities

Mission:

The DSEC Senior Sugar Technologist will be required to perform the following duties:
For project

  • Participate in the Sugar Process Concept definition for the Sugar Plant Project
  • Review, check and validate the Sugar Project Mass and Heat Balance developed with MATLAB by the process team
  • Size and define the equipment considered in Sugar Plant Project
  • Elaborate PD, P&ID and functional description related to the Sugar Plant Project
  • Participate to project process review (Sugar Plant Project)
  • Participate to pre commissioning, commissioning and start up of Sugar Plant Project
For audit

  • Perform the process and energy audit of Sugar Factories
  • Review the production figures, analyze the laboratory data in order to evaluate the plant operation situation
  • Support the process team to develop the MATLAB model of the audited plant
  • Elaborate recommendation for plant improvement
  • Consolidation and redaction of the audit reports

Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in the field of Sugar Production
  • Excellent knowledge of Extraction, Purification, Evaporation, Crystallization in terms of production follow up
  • Knowledge of key figures, KPI and of the equipment operation
  • Theoretical knowledge and practical knowhow of the sugar process unit operations.
  • Involved in implementation of new project in sugar process

Skills:

  • Chemistry of the sugar production
  • Thermodynamic and thermal engineering related to the sugar process
  • Good communicator with computer skills
  • Open to new approach, open to understand customer specificity

Languages:

  • English
  • French
  • German is a plus
  • Spanish is a plus
