Responsibilities:
- Manage; Finance and Accounting, Operational and Compliance audits covering UPS functions within Europe and occasionally other regions;
- Develop audit programs, announcement memos, process flows, control point analyses and other audit documentation, particularly for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing;
- Develop data analytic queries (or provide specifications to the I.T. Audit Group);
- In addition to managing audits, the audit manager will also complete audit testing;
- Document findings/results in the audit work papers;
- Communicate preliminary findings to the auditee prior to the formal review with management;
- Present findings professionally for assigned audit sections during senior management closing meetings;
- Demonstrate initiative by taking on added responsibilities and learning all aspects of the audit process;
- Identify and communicate potential areas for improvement, innovation, cost reduction and revenue maximization;
- Successfully lead an audit from preparation to report issuance;
- Assumes informal leadership role even when not assigned the leadership task;
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management;
- Complete administrative duties as and when required.
- Educated to degree level or beyond ideally with/or studying towards a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent);
- Internal/operational audit or risk management background minimum for 5 years preferred;
- Alternatively, exposure to external audit, with a knowledge of internal audit procedures;
- Successful track record of developing and implementing systems and internal control processes;
- Ability to train and develop junior employees;
- Exposure to SOX testing beneficial;
- Commercial acumen;
- Strong relationship building skills;
- Considerable exposure to the design and implementation of data analytics;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent time management skills required to meet deadlines;
- Ability to think reactively, operate in a collaborative style and adopt a solution oriented approach;
- Strong Excel, Word, MS access and PowerPoint skills used also in combination with data analytics;
- Willing to travel approximately 50% of the time mainly in the Europe region and may be called upon to travel to other regions.
