JOB DESCRIPTION
The main purpose of the Communications Officer is to ensure excellent communication with Intergraf members, the press, and other stakeholders.
This includes developing and implementing Intergraf's communications strategy, as well as the production of all kinds of publications to ensure all stakeholders are consistently informed.
It also includes event marketing and support in the organisation of Intergraf events.
The second field of responsibility is EU public affairs - particularly social policy and the European Social Dialogue, and image of the sector (primarily relating to the digital transition).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Information and communication
- Leading on the development and implementation of Intergraf's communications strategy
- Writing press releases, newsletters, articles, and other written communications directed to internal and external target audiences for print and online media
- Managing, maintaining, and improving Intergraf's website (and related organisations' websites) and extranet
- Drafting content and liaising with internal and external contributors and members for input to Intergraf publications and activities
- Designing/supervising the production and distribution of brochures, reports, and leaflets
- Dealing with enquiries from the public, the press, and related organisations
- Ensure up to date press contacts, media relations, and analysis of media coverage
- Social media management (primarily LinkedIn and Twitter)
- Event marketing and organisational support
EU policy activities
- Coordination of Intergraf's participation and input to the Social Dialogue at EU level
- Developing a global overview of issues in the field of employment and social policy relevant to the graphic industry
- Drafting position papers/letters/factsheets/general policy materials; reporting to members; participation in meetings; etc.)
General support
- Providing input to improving Intergraf member services
- Tasks such as correspondence, translation, proofreading, minute writing, and admin
- Administrative support to the certification team
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
Essential
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar communications role
- University degree in communications, journalism, European affairs, or a related field
- Copywriting and editing skills (native or bilingual proficiency in English is a must)
- Strong organisation skills and attention to detail
- Creativity and an eye for visual content
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
- Good stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and a willingness to learn
- Knowledge and experience of managing social media
Desirable
- Experience with graphic design/desktop publishing software (e.g. Canva; InDesign; GIMP; Photoshop)
- Experience with other communications tools (e.g. MailChimp)
- Experience managing websites (using, for example, Joomla or WordPress) and analytics
- Knowledge of EU decisionmaking process and advocacy
