Research and Development Director (R&D Director): Where you will play a
pivotal role in shaping the future of Kemin by overseeing the research and development of new products within our Animal Health & Nutrition business in the EMENA Region.
R&D Director will serve as a bridge between customer needs, marketing strategies, and innovation, making a substantial contribution to the company's growth.

Responsibilities:
As Research and Development Director (R&D Director), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Kemin by overseeing the research and development of new products within our Animal Health & Nutrition business in the EMENA Region
. The R&D Director will serve as a bridge between customer needs, marketing strategies, and innovation, making a substantial contribution to the company's growth.
What
you'll
be doing:
As R&D Director you will be in at the helm of the EMENA R&D department with the following key responsibilities:
- Strategy:_
- Develop and implement the company's R&D strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives.
- Ensure all research and product development activities uphold Kemin's Vision and Mission
- Product Development:_
- Act as the liaison between customers and the company to develop sustainable products in line with the ESG concept.
- Lead product development with a customercentric approach
- Drive innovation in cost reduction and product efficacy, particularly within core platforms.
- Foster a culture of innovation within the R&D team, encouraging creative thinking and collaboration.
- Resources, Management, and Connections:_
- Allocate all resources effectively to support R&D initiatives.
- Manage research projects from conception to completion
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to align R&D efforts with market needs and production capabilities.
- Build a robust scientific network with external institutions to continually acquire new expertise and stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and competitive products, opening doors to fresh opportunities for innovation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and intellectual property laws in all R&D activities.
Qualifications:
Experienced
R&D manager with a PhD in (bio)chemistry, microbiology, organic chemistry or comparable discipline, who is
passionate
about
innovation, product development and understands business needs and is
able to
meet the needs.
- Extensive experience in managing a research lab in an international environment.
Strong people management skills to lead and motivate the research team.
- A deep sense of curiosity and a
passion for innovation
- Highlevel experience in multifunctional project management and experimental design.
- A strong customer focus and the
ability to support business needs. - Proficiency in budgeting and cost calculations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills for diverse stakeholders.
- The ability to persuade and make decisions based on facts and technical arguments.
- Experience with production scaleup.
- Fluent in English and another European language
- A strong sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize effectively.
