Position Summary


The policy officer will be in charge of a coordinating policy positions within a platform gathering leading organisations in the field of renewables and energy storage.

The objective of the platform is to foster the development and the deployment of energy storage in Europe.

Main Duties


The policy officer will work on policy advocacy and lobbying for energy storage in close collaboration with key associations of the sector and other members of the consultancy.

The policy officer will have to coordinate the messaging of the platform according to the positions of the different players.


The main tasks include:

  • Finding the common priorities between the participants of the platform and translate these priorities in concrete advocacy activities for the energy storage sector;
  • Defining the advocacy strategy for the key associations working on the development and deployment of energy storage;
  • Influencing EU legislative and policy developments and analysing their implications for the energy storage industry;
  • Engaging with the EU institutions and policymakers;
  • Drafting position papers, press releases, articles, and reports to disseminate the messages to EU policymakers and media;
  • Working with a senior communications consultant to maximise the impact of the platform via targeted communications and the organisation of events;
  • Preparing and participating in meetings with policymakers and trade associations;
  • Representing the consultancy in various meetings and events.

Requirements and Competencies

  • 1 to 3 years of experience as Policy Officer or Advisor dealing with energy/environment issues;
  • Knowledge of the energy sector;
  • Understanding of the key policy priorities such as REPowerEU and the Green Deal.
  • Excellent understanding of EU institutions and policymaking processes
  • Having an established network of contacts within the EU energy policy arena.
  • Ability to coordinate the positions of several players in the field of energy and find compromises between the different positions of these players;
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and plan to meet challenging deadlines ;
  • Fluency in English is necessary; any additional European languages are an asset;
  • A university degree in a relevant field;
  • Excellent writing and oral presentation skills; public speaking experience a plus;
  • Ability to learn quickly and work on a wide range of issues;
  • Leadership skills, ability to work in a closeknit team, flexibility;
  • Willingness to travel for work.
