We are looking for a Scientist to join our R&D team based in Liège, Belgium working on development of new assays for our molecular diagnostics portfolio.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for a sub-project within the overall project goals. Understands the sub-project goals and requirements within the context of the overall project.
- Independently designs and performs complex experiments, analyzes data and prepares reports for the subproject in support of the overall project.
- May be asked to supervise daily work of junior level employees.
- Contributes to the execution of the experiments.
- Provides input and participates collaboratively with senior colleagues to review R&D deliverables due at each phase of the project.
- Provides input and actively participates with senior colleagues to review results
- Establishes and ensures the followup of specimen and matrices collection plans to support preclinical evaluation, analytical studies and for benchmarking testing during the assay development phases in collaboration with the R&D clinical lead.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively at all levels. Provides key support for internal and external customers.
- May be asked to attend and participate external meetings
What you'll bring to the role:
- PhD or Master's degree with Thesis in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or similar scientific track. If Master's degree only laboratory experience post qualification is required.
- Knowledge of and experience with PCR techniques is an asset
- Experience with diagnostic assay development is an asset
- Good level of English language required
- Analytic, rigorous, and methodical approach to work
- Ability to work autonomously and proactively
- Ability to lead own projects
- Able to collaborate easily at all levels
- Natural learner who is easily adaptable to change and new projects
