Position Overview: We're on the lookout for an experienced chemist to fill the role of Synthesis Scientist for UP and VE resins. In this exciting position, you'll focus on developing unsaturated polyester (UP) and vinyl-ester (VE) resins and formulations for composite applications. Your main duties will include managing new product development projects and providing technical support to both internal and external customers.
Responsibilities- Conduct research projects for developing new UP and VE products
- Understand structure property relations and execute DOEs to achieve product goals
- Collaborate with various R&D teams to communicate results and find solutions
- Design and set up lab equipment, analyze results, and recommend actions
- Scale up new products from lab trials to production with operations
- Promote UP and VE resins technology through presentations and publications
- Participate in safety programs and Stage Gate projects
- Assist customers with technology troubleshooting
- Oversee global intellectual property in UP and VE technologies
- 5-10 years experience in R&D with expertise in UP and VE resins
- Knowledge of cure formulations and polymer physics
- An innovative problem-solver with project leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal and project management abilities
- Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency in statistical tools and fluency in English
