_The Mission_
The mission of the project management & methodology team is to ensure business value creation by

  • Defining agile and project methodology
  • Leading delivery in a sustainable, efficient and effective way according to the methodology

_ Responsibilities:
_

  • Management of a team of 510 Sr Project Managers and a team of around 35 profiles in the Agile PMO; a mix of both internal employees and contractors

That management includes:

  • Generic people management (weekly 121, Ad-Hoc followup, Finger on the pulse,)
  • Performance management (Continuous development, feedback sharing, Mid-Year and End-OfYear evaluations, )
  • Personal development
  • Tasks assignment
  • Workload Followup
  • Offering structure and guidance to the Project Managers & Agile PMO to increase overall and individual efficiency
  • Stakeholder engagement on the projects his/her PMs/SMs are working on.
  • Engagement with the delivery organization (release trains) on Agile Methodology
  • Driving the Project Manager community and participating in other relevant Communities of Practice
  • Definition of the methodology, the processes and the tools to use to guarantee a smooth and efficient delivery (both classic project management and Safe Agile)
  • Training and coaching on methodologies and processes
  • Accountability for disciplined execution of the processes and a proper use of the tooling by the project managers and the scrum masters.
  • Bidirectional information sharing (top/down as well as bottomup information) and guidance on best practices
  • Organization and support of postproject evaluations, valuation of Epics, project audits and implementation of lessons learned
  • Regular recruitment of temporary external project managers and to support specific files
  • Project portfolio communication towards the IT & Business community
  • Step in high stake projects to take corrective actions when required
  • Ability to deal with multiple bigger files simultaneously.
  • Strong people management skills as he or she manages (directly or indirectly ) a number of actors in the delivery process
  • Ability to create community cohesion
  • Ability to motivate/enforce the disciplined execution of defined methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to interact with different levels in the organization driving efficient decision taking.
  • Influential in the organization and a team player

_ Requirements:
_

  • A university degree (preferably exact sciences, economy or IT) or has gained equivalent knowledge by relevant work experience
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in project management and Agile management, preferably in an IT context.
  • Certification or relevant experience in project methodologies like Prince2, Scrum, SAFE, Lean.
  • General comprehension of IT and IT organizations.
  • Substantial knowledge of both traditional project management as well as Agile methodology so he can coach senior profiles in these fields
  • At least 5 years of people management experience
  • Business proficient in Dutch or French and English
