**Senior Data Scientist**

VDAB is op zoek naar een Senior Data Scientist, die mee kan werken aan de ontwikkeling van algoritmes en modellen die deze evolutie kunnen ondersteunen.

Het team bestaat momenteel uit ±30 teamleden, waaronder data scientists, data engineers, devops en project managers. Je rapporteert aan onze Manager AI Center of Excellence.

Typische projecten ontstaan vanuit een idee (ter ondersteuning van burger, werkgever of medewerkers van onze organisatie) afkomstig van binnen het team of van de business. We starten hierrond een experiment om te kijken welke meerwaarde we kunnen bieden met behulp van data en AI. Indien dit positief verloopt, wordt het model in meer detail uitgewerkt en wordt er een testbaar prototype ontwikkeld. De volgende stap is dan het in productie plaatsen van de applicatie.

**Wat doe je (graag)?**

VDAB is een koploper op het vlak van AI en is van plan om hier naar de toekomst toe nog meer op in te zetten. We zijn binnen VDAB bezig met de meest innovatieve technologieën en dit ter ondersteuning van de optimalisatie van de loopbaan van de burger. Binnen VDAB heb je dus het voordeel dat je enerzijds kan werken in een heel innovatieve omgeving en anderzijds kan werken aan projecten met een grote maatschappelijke impact.

Je bent verantwoordelijk voor:

- Vertalen van business problemen naar ML/AI oplossingen
- Wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar meest geschikt ML/AI model gegeven de uitdaging
- Ontwikkelen van AI/ML modellen van experiment tot productie
- Statistische analyse van data
- Begeleiden van meer junior profielen
- Delen van kennis en inzichten van ontwikkelde modellen

**Wie zoeken we?**
- Je kan zelfstandig van begin tot einde een AI model kan opzetten. Dus het samenstellen van de data, data analyse, kiezen van het correcte model, evaluatie van de output en ondersteuning bij het in productie zetten van dit model.
- Je kan je keuzes uitleggen aan een publiek met niet technische achtergrond (zowel op basis van een presentatie als op basis van een rapport).
- Je bent een kritische en oplossingsgerichte denker, die resultaatgericht werkt zowel in team als individueel.
- Je hebt diepgaande kennis van statistiek/probabiliteitstheorie alsook van Machine Learning Algoritmes.
- Je hebt uitgebreide ervaring met Python en (PY)Spark en met GIT of andere code repositories.
- Het is een pluspunt als je ervaring hebt met NLP, Deep Learning en/of met het in productie zetten van ML oplossingen.
- Verder communiceer je vloeiend in het Nederlands.

**Wat krijg je?**

Je wordt tewerkgesteld via Vlaanderen connect., de ICT strategische dienstverlener van de Vlaamse overheid en VDAB. Je krijgt een contract van onbepaalde duur om bij VDAB aan de slag te gaan.
