Network Security Engineer

As a vital part of the tech team in a global environment, you'll contribute to the infrastructure team ensuring network uptime across our European locations including sites, shops, and datacenters.
Key Responsibilities
- Play a crucial role in maintaining network security following the Zero Trust framework and NIS directives. Implement and upkeep firewalls and other security measures to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality.
- Collaborate closely with the IT security department and external network partner.
- Create and update infrastructure documentation, manage assets, and collaborate with project-owners on relevant drawings.
- Assist in planning network security infrastructures to align with our requirements.
- Participate in coordinating and overseeing the implementation of network equipment and systems, involving configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, and other devices.
- Manage day-to-day network operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring network availability and performance.
Profiel kandidaat
Applicants ideally should:
- Hold a Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Present at least 3 years of experience in a multinational company's infrastructure environment.
- Have expertise in connecting and securing public/private/hybrid cloud datacenters and other sites.
- Possess relevant experience with various products like PaloAlto, Panorama, HPE/Aruba, Wireshark, Clearpass, etc. Additionally, experience in server, IP telephony, and storage is advantageous.
- Show a strong technical IT background.
- Fluently communicate in English, including writing skills.
- Be open to traveling across Europe for short periods for new network installations and upgrades.
- Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills.
- Show results-driven behavior, able to work independently and deliver project outcomes.
- Display flexibility in approach.
- Handle multiple IT network requests efficiently and adapt to changing priorities swiftly.
- Possess excellent communication skills with a diplomatic approach.
- Adapt effectively to a multicultural environment.
