Your missionPKNP and Port of Antwerp-Bruges International collaborate in advancing Lumut port in Malaysia. The creation of LuMIC Development Company, a joint venture established in December 2023, focuses on developing Lumut Maritime Industrial City (LuMIC) in Perak, Malaysia. This company plays a crucial role as a port developer and land manager for the Lumut Port area, strategically located in the busy trade route of the Malacca Strait. The goal is to establish a central hub for imports and exports, meeting the demands of the ASEAN region with the support of the European Global Gateway initiative.
Your duties
We are in search of a skilled manager to oversee the development and investment projects at Lumut Port, Malaysia. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in port or industrial development, project management, business development, and possess excellent communication skills. Key responsibilities include executing a Masterplan for Lumut Port, attracting and managing investments in industrial, logistics, and port terminals, overseeing projects, and ensuring seamless communication between departments in Malaysia and Belgium.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development, Investments, and Strategic Planning: Identify potential investment opportunities and partnerships to improve Lumut Port's infrastructure and services. Conduct market analysis and feasibility studies to guide strategic decision-making.
2. Team Development, Leadership, and Coordination: Develop and lead a diverse team, maintain effective communication channels between departments, provide clear instructions, monitor projects, and collaborate with the head office for operational efficiency.
3. Stakeholder Management: Build positive relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, investors, and other stakeholders to promote cooperation and support for port development initiatives.
4. Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure goals are achieved or surpassed. Take corrective actions as necessary to address any deviations from the Masterplan.
Profiel kandidaat
- Master's degree in Economics, Management, Law, Maritime Studies, Engineering, Nautical Sciences, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in port or industrial development with a successful project implementation track record
- Proven expertise in stakeholder management involving business and government authorities
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multicultural, team-oriented setting
- Skilled in cultivating client relationships, developing sales strategies, particularly in a public-private environment
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and a proactive approach to solving problems and coordinating plans
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) as the primary language for communication
