Data Governance Officer

Carrefour, as a leading global retail company, is embarking on a data-centric approach to enhance its activities, leveraging the power of data to make informed decisions and drive strategic initiatives.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Governance Officer to join our team and drive continuous improvement in data quality within our organization.

In this role, you will:

collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, business experts, legal professionals, and other stakeholders, to ensure effective data governance practices. You will be responsible for defining and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and standards that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. By leveraging your expertise, you will implement advanced data management tools, such as data dictionaries and data catalogs, to enhance data discovery, data mining, and request management processes.

As a Data Governance Officer, you will:

monitor and audit your designated data area to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance (with security, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements, such as GDPR.) work closely with data experts to enrich the data catalog with valuable insights, ensuring it remains a comprehensive and reliable resource for the organization. Through your efforts, you will champion data governance best practices, sharing knowledge and promoting a data-driven culture across the organization. In addition to your governance responsibilities, you will actively contribute to the construction and management of our data platform. By staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies, you will provide valuable insights and recommendations for enhancing our data infrastructure and ensuring its scalability, security, and performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Good experience working with SQL Queries (or having experience in coding) is a plu

Affinity with Data & IT, with a background in Economics, Analytics, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience of 3-5 years in data management, with a focus on data governance.
- A client-oriented mindset with a strong focus on delivering value to stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, enabling you to navigate complex data challenges.
- Results-oriented approach with a track record of achieving objectives and driving continuous improvement.
- Exceptional collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Managerial courage to address challenges, drive positive change, and advocate for data governance best practices.
