For these enterprising young talents, we offer a business specific traineeship to kick-start your career at ABN AMRO.

During your traineeship you will get to know the bank through and through.

You will work in a variety of departments, including sales, commercial development, products & solutions, securities, compliance, risk, finance, operations,...

You will immediately receive a contract for an indefinite period.

After the traineeship, an evaluation will be made and the final position will be determined by the vacancies available at that time.


Your future role:


Working at ABN AMRO means working on projects that matter, together with other specialists from whom you can learn a lot.

It means doing your job smartly and efficiently, with room for innovation, and in the best interests of the customer and future of the bank.


You will be part of a flexible team of professional staff who are able to meet the challenge of the complex and rapidly changing financial world in a modern, proactive and innovative way.

The traineeship starts in September 2023 and lasts one year. For twelve months you will work on 'real life' projects in different departments. Your programme consists of two four-month assignments and one three-month assignment. The two four-month projects are determined in advance in function of the needs of the bank. You decide on the three-month project yourself, in consultation with your coach.


The traineeship is based on your own initiative and commitment, but of course you are not left on your own.

There is a team to guide you.

Your mentor is your personal point of contact and together with you he/she will map out the route through the traineeship.

He or she will also follow your progress.

For each project, a principal will be appointed from the department where you will be at that time. He or she will define and evaluate your objectives. An HR employee will ensure regular individual consultation. In addition, we will organise meetings with all trainees so that you can all share experiences with each other.

Finally, you are also assigned a "buddy", who is a former trainee or an employee of the bank who can give you good advice and practical tips.
