VAT Specialist:
To reinforce our Finance team we are looking for a VAT Specialist.

The VAT Specialist must ensure that all VAT positions are correctly reflected in the accounts.

He/she should be comfortable directly liaising with various business teams within the company with the aim of gaining a deep understanding of the business vision and model in order to help develop comprehensive VAT solutions in support of the business, help develop VAT requirements that clearly articulate such solutions, and help drive the implementation of the VAT requirements.

Main tasks

• Develop and maintain an indepth knowledge of the VAT rules relevant for the Ontex group.
• Closely follow up on VAT developments in all countries where Ontex is present
• Assist the local Finance managers with all VAT related questions.
• Provides support and training to the finance managers to ensure VAT compliance and processes are properly implemented and maintained.
• Provide support with local VAT audits. Coordinate and assist local finance departments in data collection and advisor coordination
• Provide support in the preparation of the Belgian VAT compliance
• Develops and recommends VAT Planning opportunities in line with the Group Tax Strategy.
• Maintains an overview of all VAT compliance requirements for the Ontex group.
• The VAT Specialist explores system improvements increasing efficiency and/or control and makes recommendations.

Job Requirements

• Master / Business school degree in Business or Finance or equivalent with specialization in Tax
• 3 to 5 years of experience with at least 3 years of VAT experience in an international environment
• Fully master Excel and be familiar with SAP and BI systems.
• Fluency in English, Dutch and French, other languages are considered a plus
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Selfstarter, autonomous and problem solver.
• Proactive and positive attitude
• Detail oriented but able to quickly grasp the big picture
• Proven ability to work across different cultures and in cross functional teams
• High standard of ethics and professionalism
