About the role :

We are seeking an experienced Team Lead for our API Squad (team of 3 employees). The ideal Team Lead must have a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, and AWS services, combined with a DEVOPS-oriented mindset. As Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing the team's workflow, ensuring the team focuses on the right priorities, and effectively handling communication and support requests.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Triage and Support Management: Efficiently triage API support requests and incidents, ensuring developers can focus on their tasks without unnecessary distractions.
  • Inter-team Communication: Act as the primary communication point between the API squad and other development teams, as well as supporting teams from various departments, to address requests, questions, and input.
  • Task Prioritization: Ensure the team is working on high-priority tasks and projects, avoiding unnecessary work or over-engineering solutions.
  • Issue Management: Write clear and comprehensive development issues in Jira, enabling the team to work independently without needing further input.
  • Technical Support: Provide support to developers on challenging technical issues, leveraging your expertise to guide and assist them.
  • Multi-tasking and Follow-up: Manage and follow up on multiple tasks and communication lines effectively, ensuring smooth operations and progress.
  • DEVOPS Mindset: Configure and use necessary DEVOPS tools and practices to support application development and deployment, although setting up infrastructure is not required.
Technical skills required :
  • Proficient in Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with AWS services, particularly EKS, ECR, and MSK.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, Tekton, ArgoCD, Keycloak, and Kafka.
  • Experience with MongoDB.
  • Experience in writing and maintaining REST APIs.
  • General knowledge and experience with these technologies to work effectively with them.
Qualifications :
  • A minimum of 5 years senior-level experience in software development.
  • MSc in Computer Science or equivalent field.
  • Proven experience in a team lead or senior developer role, preferably within an API-focused team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • DEVOPS-oriented mindset with experience in configuring and using relevant tools for application development and deployment.
