Product Manager Cleaning Solutions
The position is based at DeLaval NV in Drongen, Belgium. Some travelling will be needed to be successful in this position.
Purpose of the role and key responsibilities
Product management:
- Assortment management
- Defined area of responsibility as "product owner" on cleaning solution & hoof health assortment
- Ensure development of the cleaning solution & hoof care assortment life cycle in terms of quality improvements, documentation, compliance, product costreduction efforts and overall pruning & simplification jointly with the respective Supply chain and PD organization
- Manage & coordinate product compliancy, labelling, introduction, together with market, supply chain & regulatory affairs colleagues.
- Follow up on cost Margin, Pricing, assortment rationalization
- Quality followup
- Coordinate the response to customer complaints and warranty claims
Project management:
- Work alongside DeLaval equipment Product Areas and Solutions Team, Digital Services, Market Areas and Service teams to determine new innovative concepts and chemical or mechanical mechanisms to provide efficacious, cost effective/profitable and industry leading alternatives to existing practices
- Participate or lead the cleaning solution project development from the idea generation to the post launch management together with our research & development, regulatory, supply chain departments and alongside with the market area responsible.
- Responsible for the project development documentation and process (i.e. produce Business Proposal/Business Case) for new projects under Cleaning Solutions
- Lead in development and maintenance projects
- Lead trainings and competence handover (technical, biological, feature & benefit) in the MQAH product area
- Maintain a global competition & business intelligence awareness for related products and solutions for cleaning solutions
- Contribute to drive growth and Margin in the MQAH product area
- Participate in dialogues with DeLaval commercial teams, dealers, and customers
- Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment
Qualifications and experience
To be successful in this role we are looking for someone with:
- At least 7-10 years working experience in an international product management environment, preferably with some chemical knowledge
- Good level of familiarity with the agri/dairy business
- Good interest and understanding of chemistry connected to detergents & cleaning principals
- A basic ability to understand mechanical systems for cleaning
- Documented trackrecord
- An understanding and appreciation of the developing digital world and the opportunities arising
- High level of business acumen to drive innovation
- Strong strategic thinking ability with excellent communications skills
- Team player, you can work in a multicultural and crossfunctional environment
- Degree in engineering/science/economics/agriculture
- Experience with a variety of software programs useful in office work
- Organized, task oriented and analytical personality
- Good problem solving, communication and decision making skills
- Initiative taking and continually seek ways to improve
