For the CCGT Project Flémalle, we are looking for a CONSTRUCTION MANAGER.

Your CHALLENGE as Construction Manager for the Flémalle CCGT Project

You are working in Owner project team on site and work in close cooperation with the Site Manager and Project Manager.

More specifically, you are in charge of:

  • Coordinate, on a daytoday basis the construction works at site between the different contractors, with a special focus on HSE and schedule compliancy. Organize the works so that these can be carried out safe and as efficient as possible for all contractors.
  • Steer, lead, push and motivate the complete site construction team.
  • Day to day problem solving and dealing with any issues that arise
  • Ensure that the contractual requirements in relation to the site works and organization are followed. Liaise with the team's package representatives. Monitor and raise any change to the specifications or scope of works to project and package management.
  • Prepare the project construction phasing schedule together with the project scheduler in order to anticipate and resolve potential future coordination clashes. Have a clear view of all future construction activities.
  • Work in tandem with the HSE manager and his team to promote a positive, but very strict HSE culture
  • Implement the guidelines and different procedures applicable at site, in accordance with the Site Regulations.
  • Give the final approval for the work authorizations for site works performed by the contractors.
  • Followup and act on information which is given with regards to HSE. Perform regular site visits.
  • Works in tandem with the Site Manager and proactively informing the Project Manager about potential project risks and opportunities. Propose solutions.
  • Provide a clear overview of all extra works of the contractors to the project management. Keep a control of the site variations, request approval for the variations based on the defined signature rules.
  • Organize the handover from construction to commissioning together with the Commissioning Manager.
  • Together with the Site Manager:
  • Manage the supervision team, organize the supervision works (also for weekend and exceptional works).
  • Develop and update the different procedures applicable at site, and the Site Regulations.
  • Use and manage the use of the site supervision tools and site observations database by the supervision team to keep track of outstanding topics and punch lists.
  • Keep a log of the works in progress. Ensure proper preparation of the works
  • Ensure that a site logbook is being kept for each package

YOUR PROFILE as Construction Manager:

  • You have demonstrated experience in construction management on industrial projects. You have experience with multipackage / EPCM contracting strategy in power generation. You hold a master degree in Engineering or have a similar background.
  • You have a strong safety and environmental awareness and always take responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues
  • You have managed constructions for large projects in EPC or EPCM scheme
  • You can manage with authority, but with a teamspirit mindset
  • You have good negotiation skills
  • You have a handsonmentality and serviceminded attitude.
  • You have strong communication (verbal / writing) skills in English and French
  • You take initiatives and are a teamplayer. You anticipate.
